Jeremy Hunt, the health secretary, has told the NHS to sell off surplus property.
He is of the opinion that the NHS will need to sell £7.5bn of surplus land and buildings in order to tackle the soaring heath budget.
Selling off some of the NHS’s £7.5bn worth of surplus land and buildings, of which if London’s extra NHS properties alone were sold sold, the NHS would save £1.5bn.
Hunt has pledged to make £10bn in savings in HNHS expenditure.
The NHS currently has a £110bn budget and is facing an unprecedented demand for care.
