Calder UK Appoint Maris on 5th Project
July 2010
Maris is delighted to announce their ongoing partnership with Calder UK with the start on site at Jessica House, Wandsworth High Street on their 5th London training centre.
In 2009, Calder UK was appointed to deliver Flexible New Deal to Jobcentre Plus customers in Central London, Lambeth, Southwark and Wandsworth by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). Calder UK is one of the first continental welfare to work providers operating in Great Britain. Calder UK will provide its services for 5 years to 15,000 customers annually.
Originating in the Netherlands, Calder gained experience in a wide range of employment-related services, language courses, debt counselling and mental healthcare services.
Their goal is to help people get back to work as quickly as possible by supporting and guiding those customers to (re) discover their opportunities and the choices open to them so they can turn their objectives into reality.
Maris has completed 4 other training centres for Calder UK in Islington (20,000 sq ft), Camden (8,000 sq ft), Kennington Park (12,000 sq ft) and their Arundel Street head office in London’s West End (14,000 sq ft).
The scope of works at Jessica House will include full strip out of 2 of the 3 floors and fit-out of all 3 floors incorporating some 12,000 sq ft of space. The fit-out incorporates the creation of group training rooms, open plan staff areas and their client areas encompassing PC activity areas, phone booth facilities, open plan group discussion areas and interview rooms.
Maris’ Project Director commented, “Our relationship with Calder UK is such that for our fifth project, our understanding of our client’s requirements allowed us to turn around a design scheme for Jessica House in the shortest of timeframes. Things like layout, specification, adjacencies were all learned from the previous projects. Maris plans to deliver Calder’s latest training centre in just 7 weeks, both on time, on budget and to the same standard that Calder has come to expect from our ongoing relationship.”
