buyingTeam Buying from Maris
March 2010
Maris are delighted to have been appointed by buyingTeam to provide Project Management, Design and Construction Management duties on their relocation from Eagle House, Proctor Street to their prestigious new headquarters in the City of London on the 1st Floor of 107 Cheapside. 107 Cheapside is a relatively new development, built in 2008, providing 159,000 sq ft of office space and seven new retail units positioned in the heart of the City between St Paul’s and Bank.
buyingTeam are the leading procurement specialists delivering savings and benefits to their Clients across Europe. They have rapidly grown on their reputation alone, and have offices in London, Leeds, Brussels, Geneva, Madrid and Wales. The move to a larger and more flexible headquarters building will accommodate buyingTeam’s continued development, with year on year revenues up 35% in 2009, company headcount rose by 30% during the same period.
The 15,000 sq ft project, which started on site early March 2010, will take just 8 weeks to complete. The scope of works across a single floor plate which is divided in two sections by a central atrium, included the installation of a beautiful reception space, an open-plan area with cellularised private offices around the perimeter, and seven meeting rooms (the largest featuring a sub dividing wall).
buyingTeam required an exceptionally high specification of fit-out, which includes a large amount of bespoke joinery and new carpets throughout. The reception area boasts 12 metres of bespoke feature wall panelling and the entire front of house area consists of beautiful stone flooring. The detailed final design, alongside full height glass windows and acres of natural light, created a clean and fresh space for buyingTeam to move their teams across from their current Holborn base in May 2010.
Matthew Eatough, CEO of buyingTeam, said:
“Having recorded such strong levels of growth, we were at a point where we needed to take buyingTeam to the next level. We required a larger, more modern and flexible headquarters from which we could continue to expand our reach and accommodate buyingTeam’s steady growth. The quality of space, location and ease of connecting with our Clients, both in London and elsewhere, make 107 Cheapside an excellent option and one that will enable us to demonstrate the value of our brand through the quality of our facilities and environment”.
Maris’ Design Director commented, “We knew the building was functional, which allowed us the flexibility to really design. Fewer restrictions meant our creativeness, desire and passion to design a forward thinking, practical, inspiring office space that is a pleasure to work in everyday, had free reign. The result will be an environment that meets buyingTeam’s budget as well as their expectations for steady growth and value of brand, in the present and for the future.”
