Maris Complete Fit-Out Project at Spencer House

January 2012

Maris are delighted to announce their completion on site at Spencer House, 27 St. James’s Place, London SW1A 1NR for J Rothschild Capital Management Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of RIT Capital Partners plc.

Spencer House, built in 1756 for the first Earl Spencer, is London’s finest surviving eighteenth-centrury town house. Following a ten-year restoration, undertaken by RITCP, this magnificent private palace has regained its full splendour.

Maris created a design scheme that included the reconfiguration of three working areas. The scope of works included the removal of existing solid walls and the installation of fully glazed offices resulting in the benefit of natural light across the entire space. Due to the palace being open to the public and reguarly used for private and corporate entertaining, the majority of the works were carried out during non-working hours.

Maris were appointed following visits to local listed properties, of which Maris had previously carried out fit-out works for existing Clients, namely Banco Sabadell on Pall Mall and The Dulverton Trust also on St James’s Place.

Maris’ Project Director commented, “We are privileged to have been given the opportunity to work within such as prestigious, Grade I Listed, property. The project was completed on time, within budget and to our Client’s exceptionally high standards.”
