Second Office Design & Fit-Out Project for DZ Bank
October 2011
Maris Interiors is delighted to announce the commencement of an office design, fit-out and relocation project for DZ Bank AG to 150 Cheapside, London, EC2V.
DZ Bank is Germany’s fifth largest bank and acts as the central bank for 1,000 cooperative banks and boasts a long lasting business experience of almost 125 years.
Maris Interiors first became involved with DZ Bank back in 2004 when awarded the office design and fit-out of their current London office at 10 Aldersgate Street, London, EC1A.
Due to a lease expiry at Aldersgate Street, DZ Bank AG have taken 12,000 square feet of office space on the top floor of the new 120,000 square foot development at 150 Cheapside. The workspace incorporates full height glazing which dramatically enhances the penetration of natural light and views to the south take in one of London’s most famous landmarks, St Paul’s Cathedral.
DZ Bank wanted their new London office to be comparable with their Berlin and New York offices so a key factor of their workplace design brief was incorporation of their large art collection including beautiful sculptured pieces. Maris created a scheme that not only showcased these pieces but also optimised the stunning views by placing the Boardroom on the south-side of the space overlooking St Paul’s.
The single floor plate is mainly open plan with cellular office space for senior staff and includes two meeting rooms, a tea point and an on-site comms room.
Maris’ Project Director commented, “As a Project Director it was wonderful to have the opportunity to focus on the design-led aspects of the project. Our Workplace Design team created a design and fit-out concept that not only incorporated a number of key sculptures but also provided a back drop for their art collection, whilst also providing a practical and collaborative workspace to increase staff morale and productivity”.
