Office Design and Fit-Out for Sonatrach Petroleum Corp
May 2011
Maris are pleased to announce the commencement on site of the office design and office fi-out project for Sonatrach Petroleum Corporation (SPC) at Panton House, Haymarket, London, SW1.
SPC was created in 1989 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sonatrach International Holding Corporation which is itself owned by Sonatrach Group. Sonatrach Group are located in The British Virgin Islands.
Maris are relocating SPC from their current London offices in Knightsbridge to the 1st and 2nd Floors of Panton House, comprising 8,000 sq ft.
Panton House is owned by SPC’s parent company and their sister company Sonatrach Gas Marketing, who occupy another floor within the 5 floor building. The remaining two floors are to be sublet.
Maris previously fitted-out the 1st Floor of Panton House for leading independent oil and gas exploration company, Tullow Oil, 10 years ago.
The scope of works for this turnkey office design and fit-out project includes a full strip-out and fit-out of the 1st Floor and a full refurbishment of the 2nd Floor.
Maris’ workplace design scheme includes an 18 person trading room, 2 executive offices, 3 large meeting rooms – 2 of which are interconnecting and open up to create one vast boardroom, and an impressive staff break-out facility.
SPC also required extensive archive storage space, as they regularly store and then ship files back to their Algerian office.
An integral part of the office design was the inclusion of 7 glass encased models and fish tanks, to be relocated from their Knightsbridge office and Maris ensured the scheme was sympathetic to these wonderful items.
Maris’ Project Director commented, “We have worked with Sonatrach for well over a year developing various office design and fitting out options. This office is an important international centre for conducting oil industry business and they routinely receive many important visitors, especially during International Petroleum Week every February. The project also has been interesting in the sense that we have had to cater for the workplace design requirements of the London based staff as well as satisfy all their stringent internal procurement procedures run from Algiers.”
