Maris Complete Office Refurbishment for Gordon Dadds
December 2010
Maris are proud to announce the completion of the insitu major office refurbishment, comprising 6 floors, at 80 Brook Street, Mayfair, London, W1 for leading private law firm Gordon Dadds.
Gordon Dadds have held the lease at 80 Brook Street for over 50 years.
Maris commenced this office design and office fit-out project in June 2010. 80 Brook Street is a Grade II listed building and the project included casbestos removal and refurbishment works to the basement operational areas and refurbished the ground floor reception space including client waiting area and separate client meeting rooms. Maris also replaced the toilets and tea points throughout the building and re-grouted and polished the buildings marble flooring.
External works comprised of a new skylight, roof repairs and repair and redecoration to the buidlings exterior façade. As this office building is Grade II listed, Maris had to work within the listed building constraints and were unable to drill scaffolding to the exterior and consequently designed engineered solutions to surmount this.
As 80 Brook Street is Gordon Dadd’s headquarters and they pride themselves on building long term relationships with their clients and offering a comprehensive service with the promise to “not only know how to get the job done but also to help take the strain”,business downtime was not an option during these works. Maris overcame this by undertaking a 5-phased office refurbishment operation incorporating out of hours and weekend works.
Maris’ Project Director commented, “An insitu office refurbishment always carries challenges, such as minimising business disruption and ensuring our Client’s business can function normally, and by carefully planning and staging this phased refurbishment project into an 11 week programme, Gordon Dadds experienced minimum disruption to their day-to-day schedules and ongoing business”.
