Another Office Relocation to Berkeley Square House

September 2010

Maris is delighted to announce the completion of our office relocation project for Liberty Commodities Limited to Berkeley Square House, Berkeley Square, London, W1.

This is Maris' fifth office design and fit-out project at Berkeley Square House.

Berkeley Square House is the premier multi-let building, located in the heart of Mayfair, and is without doubt one of London’s most sought-after office buildings. Berkeley Square House dominates the eastern side of Berkeley Square and offers a truly international profile due to its extensive range of blue chip occupiers and neighbours and its proximity to some of Europe’s finest restaurants and hotels.

Liberty Commodities is part of an international steel manufacturing and trading group, established in the mid 1950s and employs over 2000 people in over 20 countries.

Maris relocated Liberty from serviced offices in Fashion Street, London to their 2,000 sq ft new headquarters office on the 3rd Floor of Berkeley Square House. The workplace design scheme for the office space was predominantly open plan, incorporating a Trading Area and a large Executive Suite. Due to Liberty’s links to the steel industry, they also elected to replace all the existing internal cherry doors and frames with stainless steel.

Following the successful completion of this office relocation project, Maris were invited back by Liberty to ‘dress’ the Suite. Maris’s Workplace Design Team created a wonderful bespoke Coffee Bar, boasting cast glass and remarkable joinery, alongside an elegant Boardroom and inviting lounge area.

Maris were selected by Liberty Commodities Limited due to our expert knowledge of the building, gained by four previous office fit-out projects within Berkeley Square House, and the fact that we had previously fitted out the 3rd Floor when we relocated Straumur, from whom Liberty are subletting, into the space.

Maris’ Project Director, commented, “Due to the travelling itinerary of the Managing Director of Liberty, our Workplace Design Team had to capture the design very quickly and turn around their ideas overnight in order to present our schemes immediately. We held a large number of lengthy meetings, in very quick succession, and at very short notice to ensure we gained exacting requirements and desires.”
