Client Background

Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance (London Management) Ltd (MSILM) is part of the Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group (MSIG). MSILM, through its subsidiaries, is one of the most innovative and forward thinking insurers in the market today. In the UK, MSILM has established an outstanding reputation for a uniquely innovative approach to underwriting, risk engineering and claims management.

Points of note

Given the historic relationship between Maris and Mitsui, spanning over 10 years and encompassing 5 major office design and fit-out projects, Maris worked closely with Mitsui in the early stages helping to select Norman Foster’s landmark Willis Building in the heart of London’s insurance market.

Key to the workplace design was a solution congruent with the building’s architecture. The end result is a stunning fit-out encompassing a high gloss black reception ceiling, bespoke glazed panels and cut stone that follows the radius of the building.

“Maris Interiors surpassed themselves again as our designers. They embraced the features of our building and created an environment that is timeless, elegant and all with an attention to detail that would be hard to beat. As with all the great designs they have built, I relied fully on Maris’s structured, meticulous and disciplined approach. This is now the 5th project Maris has carried out for Mitsui and the quality and workmanship never fails to impress.”
