Client Background

MatthewsDaniel was established in 1962 in Houston to provide loss adjusting, surveying and appraisal services to the energy industry and its insurers. They are now located around the world in 22 offices.

Points of note

The interior office design is a combination of both open plan and cellular work areas, which supports the functions of the business and sympathetically coordinates the interior architecture with the building’s own contemporary design.

The prominent use of glass with fine levels of detailing provides a transparent environment.

It was encouraging to work with a client who had a passion for ensuring the design solution optimised not only the architecture of the building, but the impressive views across the Thames and the City. The design solution addressed this and the finished fit-out project is testimony to the benefits of a close working relationship.

Client Comment

“Maris made the best of what was, in part, a rather awkward space to fit-out, at the same time as incorporating the wishes of an array of personalities. Their design for our corporate profile was a success both on an aesthetic and practical basis, which is key since we work and, at times, practically live in it.

Maris’ design is timeless yet contemporary, understated, practical and exudes quality.”
