Huawei

Client Background

Huawei is a leading global ICT solutions provider. Their products and solutions have been deployed in over 140 countries, serving more than one third of the world’s population. This Chinese multinational company is currently the largest telecommunications developer in the world.

Points of note

Maris helped to relocate Huawei from their old offices at Faraday Business Park in Basingstoke to their new premises at 300 South Oak Way, Green Park in Reading. Green Park is at the heart of the “M4 corridor”, the centre of Britain’s information, communication and technology sectors.

The workplace design project involved providing Huawei with a stand-out office for it’s UK operations as well as enriching their staff’s working life and improving efficiency through a better connected business environment. The new 140,000 sq ft office complex houses Huawei’s main UK operation and will help meet the future needs of the company’s growing workforce.

Maris undertook a CAT A & CAT B fit-out over six floors to provide a bespoke working environment for both staff and Clients. Maris’ office design package included  a canteen/tea-point, building security arrangements, graphics and way-finding and all acoustic and partitioning requirements. A 3,500 sq ft Comms Room Facilities with standby generator, 200kW local cooling and gas suppression system was constructed.

Maris have strived to design and build a high-end bespoke working environment; the office design scheme included: a 400 seat restaurant, commercial kitchen with western and eastern cooking equipment and various satellite tea points, cladding, roof and external staircase refurbishment works. There is also a Executive Management Suite, including Boardroom, Dining and Telepresence rooms.
