Comic Relief

Client Background

Comic Relief is seriously committed to helping end poverty and social injustice in the UK and poorest countries in the world.

Launched in 1985 from a refugee camp in Sudan, they have raised over £425 million; primarily through Red Nose Days and Sport Relief. More than 2,050 celebrities have given their time and talent to Comic Relief

Points of note

This was an in-situ office refurbishment with 6 phases over a 20 week period. The challenge was to keep a tight reign on the programme and budget to ensure perfect delivery.

Their current office layout could not cope with their continuous growth. They did not have enough phone sockets or data points for their staff and had hit a ‘bottle-neck’. Comic Relief required a design that would allow them to work to their full potential with room for expansion.

“Maris were appointed because of their excellent design and understanding of the initial brief. Despite a changing brief and tight timescales all the phases were handed over on time, due mainly to strong project and site management.”
