Black & Veatch

Client Background

Black & Veatch is an employee-owned, global leader in building Critical Human Infrastructure in Energy, Water, Telecommunications and Government Services. Since 1915, they have helped their Clients improve the lives of people in more than 100 countries through consulting, engineering, construction, operations and programme management.

Points of note

Our engagement with Black & Veatch began 16 months before they took occupation of the completed offices. In the early stages we provided guidance on the suitability of their existing Redhill office to support their projected headcount and what the cost would be to bring the building services up to a modern standard. As a result of these investigations, Black & Veatch decided to relocate to another local modern property where the rent savings offset much of the fit-out costs.

We were able to reduce their capital expenditure on the unseen building services and concentrate the budget on the fit-out and furniture solutions. The Maris design and furniture teams worked with their project steering committee to drive a change in their working culture to enable Black & Veatch to be more collaborative, agile and open. The results have provided a dramatic positive change in how their staff feel about our business.
