Baku Restaurant

Client Background

BAKU Restaurant is London’s premier Azerbaijani destination and many will remember 164-165 Sloane Street being the previous premises of Gordon Ramsay’s La Noisette restaurant and Jamie Oliver’s Montys.

The restaurants vision is to take guests “on an inspiring journey into a unique culture”.

United Enterprises International (UEI), an Azerbaijani Private Equity firm, purchased the property on Sloane Street in 2010 as well as acquiring 9,200 square feet of commercial property at 2 Queen Anne’s Gate, SW1.

Points of note

The property covers three floors; the Ground floor with Maître d’ leading, via the grand staircase to the first floor encompassing the main restaurant. The private dining space incorporates stand-alone climate control, lighting and cutting edge sound systems.

The second floor includes a spacious open plan lounge and bar area that is introduced by a stunning 20m led light glazed window feature that incorporates rarely seen levels of traditional craftsmanship.  This feature is off-set by a hand painted mural that envelopes the bar and evokes themes of Azerbaijan.

Every fixture and fitting was designed by Maris and was completely bespoke, including the upholstery, fabrics and furniture.
